How to Add Different Voices - MuseScore tutorial
Просмотров 18 тыс.Год назад
Sometimes you need to have two different music parts to be playing at the same time in the same staff. Or, you might want to save space by having two voices share a staff. One of the best ways to achieve this is to use the voices feature in MuseScore. This feature allows you to use up to four different music lines in the same staff. In the video I will show you how to use the voices feature and...

How Accidentals Work on Different Staves
Просмотров 2,5 тыс.2 года назад
Hi everyone, today I want to talk a little about accidentals. So far we have only talked about how accidentals act when they are on one staff. But what happens when you have more than one staff of music? Maybe it’s a piece of piano music with a treble staff and bass staff. Or maybe it’s an ensemble you want to play and there are more than two staves. How do accidentals work in those situations?...

Tea break? I'm drinking Gin and could probably use a break. Fascinating info. Thanks for putting in the effort. I had mistakenly deduced that John had lightly placed his index finger on the first fret of his Gibson's 5th string and plucked producing the vibration that started the feedback. But your explanation makes more sense, tonally speaking. Okay, gonna geek out elsewhere. Rock on!

Louis Armstrong Bessie Smith Bing Crosby - the first music/movie star since Bing won an Oscar. Bing was Frank's idol. Billie Holiday - another one of Frank's influences Ella Fitzgerald Frank Sinatra Elvis Presley - there'd be no Beatles without Elvis. They said so. The Beatles James Brown - Michael's biggest influence Aretha Franklin Michael Jackson Whitney Houston You really should acknowledge female artists since Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin & Whitney Houston pretty much influenced everyone whom came after them.

The instrumentation on 'Eleanor Rigby" wasn't exactly an orchestra, it was a double string quartet. Four violins, two cellos, and two violas. I am an expert on all things Beatles. I was 9 when I saw them live in '64. When I was flying from New York to LA in 1974, still in the Navy, I had my head cover on my lap and someone grabbed it. I turned to see John Lennon and Harry Nilsson playing with it. It was John who took it. I was happy to be teased.

The one behind you, Little Richard, would prob be it if only one. George Harrison and Michael Jackson outright named him as inspirations, and the rock genre, as well as music in general, would prob be the most different if Little Richard didn't exist.

Herman's Hermits, Sam The Sham and the Batman symbol. I liked how you mentioned Frank wasn't in the war. My grandfather was in the war; and so, of course, didn't become a famous crooner. In fact, my grandfather had to drag my grandmother out of Frank's hotel room after he got back from overseas. It's always been interesting to me that Frank suffered a vocal chord hemorrhage early in his career. I think his voice changed after that. But that's the Frank I love - less vibrato, more focus of phrasing. I liked your video.

The first 7 notes from the well known hymn at the end of Finlandia by Sibelius are exactly the same as those of a catalan song to the Virgin of the Monastery of Montserrat in Catalonia close to Barcelona. This catalan song is 'The Virolai', and was composed in 1881. Because Finlandia's Sibelius is from 1899, the core melody of that particular hymn seems a mere transposition of the Catalan song. For sure Sibelius took it from this traditional song. Ah my dear Sibelius.... you're a rather cheatty guy!!

If I may, I believe to say, "..if you notice, the distances stay the same, you can double check by counting the lines and spaces" ( 3:39 ) is confusing and should not be spoken. Because this is true ONLY VISUALLY, when looking at the lines and spaces. And, as you know, the lines and spaces OMIT the minor notes. So its a misleading or confusing comment because in every other regard, the distances are NOT the same. (as you go on to describe) Other than this, very helpful and very well explained. Thank you! :)

    The most salient feature of a polyrhythm - any polyrhythm - is a pattern that is a symmetrical Palindrome. 2 against 3 will look like this: § : > | < : § 3 against 5 § x x o x > o x x o < x o x x § o = beat one in 3 “>” or “<“ = beat one in 5 and § = where beat one of both coincide. All we are doing is superimposing 3 groups of 5 beats over 5 groups of 3 beats.

"this was the first song that was ever sent intentionally out in space..." Hmmm....Read this: "Chuck Berry's "Johnny B. Goode" was sent into space on September 5, 1977, when it was included on a gold record disk that launched aboard the Voyager 2 space probe. The record was a tribute to Berry, who wrote and recorded the song in 1958. "Johnny B. Goode" is considered one of the most recognizable songs in popular music history and is often called "the first rock & roll hit about rock & roll stardom."

That said, Berry's guitar work was based on Sister Rosetta Tharp in the 1940s. Little Richard got hid piano links from Harry "The Hipster" Gibson also 1940s. Both were Rocking before anyone knew what Rocking was.

"it's another video on the Beatles" but this time hosted by a pretty girl that knows what she's talking about....I'm 68 and became a music teacher because of the Beatles....the Beatles were outragious from the beginning, with the long hair, and practically rescued rock and roll from death on the vine admit teenage crooners controlled by the adult world, and the like. Boy band is a sickening label to those who were around in 1964. Before the suits, they wore leather jackets, swore dranka dnsmoked onstageis the sleazy clubs of Hamburg Germany and Liverpool. Hardlu a boy band. their manager cleaned them up, just so they could get a recoding contratct an dmake TV appearance so they could make it big. they in turn wrote songs to the preteen and teenage audiences to make themselves more presentable and appealing. That way they kicked down the door and made it big. otherwise they would have dissolved back into factory jobs or something.

Good job huge topic! My 2 cents: 1. Prior to the Beatles the chances of working class lads making millions was nil. The rock generation ushered in a new class of “classless” millionaires. Lol. 2. The British Invasion nearly wiped out the jazz genre. 3. Thorn - Emi weapons division benefited from Beatles success. 4. The studio becomes an instrument. 5. If she were blonde? Relationship with Yoko exposes rampant racism. 6. Are your kids getting smart? Preteens exposed to “ chairman Mao” 7. Beatles global reach versus Christianity 8. Drug culture lyrics escape BBC scrutiny 9. First pop band to receive nod from stuffy classical music writers. 10. Bucking ham palace woos youth culture by handing out medals- later John Lennon gives back his MBE.
